Is it just me, or is it difficult to find the font you want to use while designing something? I mean not only find the perfect font, but actually FIND it on your computer!
I don’t know how long I went without finding a decent tool to actually view fonts i want to use to design. I’ve always inserted the textual content within a design in Photoshop, (or MS Word) then applied different fonts until I was happy with the result.
Well I found a really cool utility called Free&Easy Font Viewer. It’s exactly what I need. I downloaded it, installed it and it just worked.
Here’s a screenshot:
I just wanted to share. Here’s the site: (it’s not an affiliate link… just a site from which to download the app:

my good friend colleen wheeler, (phenom author and photoshop expert with Deke.com just reined me in with a dose of reality: where’s the love for a mac?
thank you for that, cw! =)
ya know, i used to never look for… or use anything but solutions for the mac. have i gone to the dark side? no. i have to use 2 rigs – 1 pc, 1 mac and 3 monitors. i have to try to make websites look and work well on all types of platforms/browsers… but the majority of tools i use (as a web developer) are on a pc. so, being tired and having the attention span of a gnat, ii forgot to send out love for my mac friends.
BUT… since she mentioned it, i have used this one cool font management system for the mac and really liked it. (even more than font book)
Linotype FontExplorer X
here is the freeware version (unless they’ve changed the licensing)
