Situated on one of the busiest and "hippest" intersections on the Sunset Strip, 8766 Holloway Drive was designed in 1953 by the renowned LA architect Rudolf Schindler . The building, with its large windows facing a view of the Hollywood Hills and Tower Records , has had many incarnations, including a one-time studio for John "The Duke" Wayne.

Today, the building holds a coffee house, Dialog Coffee & Bakery -- a place where "creative people can find quality time for communication in a good environment," according to proprietor Masoud Farahani and his wife, Pooran. The Farahanis pride themselves on the fact that their clientele -- comprised largely of the artists, writers, musicians, entertainers, producers and filmmakers who live and work in the area -- keep coming back. "We know the customers and they know us," declares Mr. Farahani. With its warm sand colored walls, hardwood floors and cheery natural light, Dialog invites the visitor in; the friendly face behind the counter then offers a Menu of irresistible temptations of coffee drinks and pastries, as well as juices, simple breakfasts, sandwiches, soups and salads. Dialog further beguiles the visitor with a Newsstand featuring a reading list catering to people in entertainment and the arts, Gifts specializing in handmade glass vases and other crafts, and a Surf Station with access to the Internet.

Presently able to seat 15 guests in comfort (max. occup. 30), Dialog Downstairs is situated on the lower level of this hillside building, and features a state-of-the-art, 10' rear projection screen, a PC with 21" monitor, and a separate entrance. Catering is available by Dialog Upstairs.

Dialog, in an on-going effort to better serve its clientele, will soon be offering an ATM, an additional Internet surf station, and a Desktop Publishing center in Dialog Upstairs, which will feature a fax machine, copier, computers (both Macs and PCs) with ISDN modem, and printers. Imagine! A Desktop Publishing Center just steps away from cappuccinos and muffins!
